Damon and Krapf to Serve on DSBA Executive Committee

WILMINGTON, Delaware (July 12, 2010) – Richards, Layton & Finger directors Doneene Keemer Damon and Robert J. Krapf have been elected to the Executive Committee of the Delaware State Bar Association. Krapf, who was previously a member of the Executive Committee, was elected the New Castle County Vice President; Damon will serve a second term as a Member-at-Large. They were elected for one-year terms beginning on July 1, 2010 at the DSBA’s annual Bench and Bar Conference, held on June 9, 2010. The Executive Committee, which has 25 members, is the top governing body of the DSBA.
Damon focuses primarily on formation and operational issues relating to Delaware statutory trusts in all types of commercial and business transactions, including securitizations, structured finance, investment funds, real estate financings and trust preferred securities transactions. She represents banks and trust companies in connection with their trust and agency services in various commercial transactions, as well as health-care clients in all kinds of commercial and transactional matters.
In addition to serving on the DSBA Executive Committee, Damon is a member of the Council for the American Bar Association Section of Business Law. She serves on numerous committees and holds several leadership positions in the state and national bar, and she is recognized in Chambers USA. Damon received a J.D., cum laude, from Temple University School of Law and a B.S., cum laude, from St. Joseph’s University.
Krapf focuses his practice on a variety of transactional matters in the areas of real estate and land use law. His clients include many of the regional and national developers, landlords, banks and other lenders, conservation organizations, institutions, businesses and industries operating in Delaware. In addition to his leadership positions in many state and national bar committees, Krapf is the firm’s representative to and chair emeritus of the Real Estate Practice Group of Lex Mundi, an international association of law firms, and president of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys.
Many organizations have recognized Krapf for excellence in the practice of law. He earned a J.D., cum laude, from Widener University School of Law, an M.A. from the University of Delaware, and a B.S.F.S. from Georgetown University.
