Richards Layton Attorneys Named 2011 Delaware Lawyers of the Year

WILMINGTON, Delaware (October 26, 2010) – Best Lawyers, the oldest peer-review publication in the legal field, has named three Richards, Layton & Finger directors as 2011 Wilmington, Delaware Lawyers of the Year. Richard G. Bacon has been chosen as Trusts and Estates Lawyer of the Year, Jesse A. Finkelstein has been named Corporate Lawyer of the Year, and Robert J. Krapf has been selected as Real Estate Lawyer of the Year. Only one lawyer in each specialty in each community is honored as the Lawyer of the Year.

Best Lawyers identifies outstanding attorneys by conducting exhaustive surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The lawyers named as Lawyers of the Year have received exceptional ratings in the Best Lawyers surveys for their abilities, professionalism and integrity.

Bacon advises clients on issues involving estate and trust administration, estate planning, fiduciary litigation, and matters relating to state and local taxation, including the escheat of abandoned property. He is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Bacon earned an LL.B. from Duke University School of Law and a B.S., cum laude, from Villanova University.

Finkelstein provides corporate governance, transactional, M&A and control dispute advice to clients and represents them in complex, high-stakes litigation. He has extensive experience advising and representing corporations, directors, significant shareholders and board committees. A fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Finkelstein received a J.D. from Boston College Law School and a B.A. from the University of Rochester.

Krapf handles a variety of transactional matters in the areas of real estate and land use law, representing many of the regional and national developers, landlords, conservation organizations, institutions, businesses, industries, banks and other lenders operating in Delaware. An active member of the bar and numerous other professional organizations, Krapf is chair of the Executive Committee of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys. He holds degrees from Widener University School of Law, the University of Delaware and Georgetown University.
