He has represented a broad range of national and international clients, both counseling them on issues involving the Delaware General Corporation Law, and litigating business and corporate disputes on their behalf in the Delaware state and federal courts. His clients have included the officers, directors, board committees, stockholders and investors of many of the Fortune 500 companies who have incorporated in Delaware. Allen has served as an expert witness on Delaware corporate law issues in courts outside of Delaware. He also has been retained by special board committees investigating claims or matters involving Delaware law.
Allen is past president of Richards, Layton & Finger and past chair of its Litigation Department. A frequent panelist and speaker at bar association and other legal organizations’ seminars, Allen has also taught trial and corporate law at two law schools.
