20 Richards Layton Directors Named in 2010 Lawdragon

WILMINGTON, Delaware (March 16, 2011) – Twenty Richards, Layton & Finger directors have been recognized in the 2010 Lawdragon Leading Lawyers in America. Seven attorneys, R. Franklin Balotti, Donald A. Bussard, Mark D. Collins, Jesse A. Finkelstein, Mark J. Gentile, James G. Leyden Jr. and Gregory P. Williams, are named among the Lawdragon 500—considered by Lawdragon to be the 500 leading lawyers in the U.S. In addition, Paul M. Altman, C. Stephen Bigler, Frederick L. Cottrell III, Daniel J. DeFranceschi, Raymond J. DiCamillo, Daniel A. Dreisbach, Anne C. Foster, Daniel L. Klein, Robert J. Krapf, W. Donald Sparks II, Allen M. Terrell Jr., Gregory V. Varallo and William J. Wade are listed as Lawdragon Finalists. The Richards Layton directors named on the prestigious Lawdragon 500 list are among a select group comprising far fewer than 1 percent of all lawyers in the U.S. Balotti, who has argued many of the leading cases defining the duties of corporate directors under Delaware law, advises corporations and corporate directors in transactional and governance matters. Bussard, senior member of the firm’s corporate transactional group, advises corporations and boards of directors in connection with mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, stockholder issues and corporate governance. Collins, chair of the firm’s Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring Department, focuses on bankruptcy, insolvency and creditors’ rights, representing debtors, lenders, creditors’ committees and acquirers in national chapter 11 cases. Finkelstein provides corporate governance, transactional, merger and acquisition, and control dispute advice to clients in complex or high-stakes matters. Gentile advises corporations, officers, directors, board committees and stockholders regarding mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations and corporate governance issues. Leyden is actively involved in the organization, structuring and operation of LLCs and partnerships, including structured finance transactions and private equity investment fund matters. Williams, chair of the firm’s Corporate Department and past president of the firm, advises corporations, directors, officers and board committees, and represents them in courts in Delaware and across the country.
