Anne Shea Gaza Named President of Delaware Chapter of the Federal Bar Association

WILMINGTON, Delaware (September 29, 2009) – Anne Shea Gaza, counsel at Richards, Layton & Finger, has been elected as president of the Delaware Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. Her two-year term will begin on October 1, 2009. The Delaware Chapter of the Federal Bar Association works to promote the welfare, interests, education and professional growth of the members of the federal legal profession. Gaza, who serves on the District Court CLE Committee, previously served as a member of the Merit Selection Panel appointed by the United States District Court for the District of Delaware in connection with the reappointment of Magistrate Judge Thynge to a new term as a U.S. Magistrate Judge for the District of Delaware.
A member of the Richards Layton’s Litigation Department, Gaza represents local, national and international clients in complex commercial matters before Delaware state and federal courts. Her varied civil litigation practice includes intellectual property litigation, product liability and toxic tort defense, and complex commercial litigation. A member of the firm’s Diversity Committee, she is also a member of the Litigation and Intellectual Property Sections of the American Bar Association and the Litigation and Multicultural Lawyers and Judges Sections of the Delaware State Bar Association. From time to time, Gaza works with Delaware Volunteer Legal Services as a Protection from Abuse Advocate. A former Captain in the United States Air Force, Gaza received a JD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and a BA, cum laude, with honors in political science, from Moravian College.
