Damon Elected a Fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers

WILMINGTON, Delaware (March 30, 2012) – Richards, Layton & Finger director Doneene Keemer Damon has been selected to be a Fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers (ACCFL). The ACCFL is an exclusive professional association whose mission is to promote and develop the field of commercial finance law. Membership is limited to those individuals who have not only attained a high degree of skill in commercial finance law, but who have helped others in the field by sharing their knowledge. Damon was formally inducted into the ACCFL on March 24 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the college’s annual meeting, held in conjunction with the Spring Meeting of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association.
“I am very honored and proud to have been selected as a Fellow of the ACCFL. The members of the ACCFL are among the best and brightest in their fields and it is humbling to be considered a member of this prestigious group,” says Damon. “I look forward to contributing to the ACCFL as we continue to expand the field of commercial finance law.”
Damon focuses her practice primarily on formation and operational issues relating to Delaware statutory and common law trusts in all types of commercial and business transactions, including securitizations, structured finance, investment funds, real estate financings and trust preferred securities transactions. She represents banks and trust companies in connection with their trust and agency services in various commercial transactions, as well as healthcare clients in all kinds of commercial and transactional matters. Damon serves on numerous committees and holds several leadership positions in the state and national bar. She is a frequent lecturer and has written many articles on the advantages of using Delaware statutory trusts in financing transactions and the role of trustees.
