Director Allen Terrell Named Fellow of American College of Trial Lawyers

WILMINGTON, Delaware – Richards, Layton & Finger Director Allen M. Terrell, Jr. has become a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in America. He was inducted at the recent 2007 meeting of the College. Membership in the College is by invitation only to trial lawyers with at least 15 years of experience and whose careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct and professionalism. Membership in the College cannot exceed one percent of the total lawyer population of any state.

Terrell is past president of Richards, Layton & Finger and past chairman of the firm’s Litigation Department. His practice focuses on corporate and complex commercial litigation in the Delaware state and federal courts, and he provides corporate governance and corporate transactional advice to corporations and their boards of directors and committees. He has handled many significant matters, including cases that have gone before the US Supreme Court.

Terrell is president-elect of the Delaware State Bar Association and a member of its Corporation Law and Litigation Sections. He is also a member of the Business Law and Litigation Sections of the American Bar Association; he is listed in the 2007 edition of Delaware Super Lawyers.

A contributor to several law reviews, Terrell has published numerous articles in The Business Lawyer and the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law. He is the coauthor of the Delaware chapter of the Product Liability Desk Reference, and formerly was an adjunct professor at Widener University School of Law. Terrell earned a BA from Harvard College and an LLB from Harvard University Law School.
