In Memoriam—Christopher Michael De Lillo
January 11, 2022
Firm News
On December 23, 2021, our dear colleague and friend, Christopher Michael De Lillo (“Chris”), passed away suddenly.
Chris joined our RLF family just over five years ago. Sometimes, five years is not a lot of time to get to know someone. But for us with Chris, and for our colleagues who worked so closely with Chris, five years was more time than we needed to come to know, admire, appreciate and respect Chris, and to love Chris, and to be in grief together with his sudden passing.
While we grieve for Chris and our loss, we are deeply grateful for Chris and our time with him. Chris was talented, smart, dedicated and tenacious. But more than that, Chris was our friend, he was kind, gracious and committed, and we will miss Chris and our time with Chris.
Chris is survived by his parents Kevin and Kathleen De Lillo, of Raleigh, NC, his sister Michelle De Lillo-Lane, brother-in-law Brandon Lane, and nephew Grayson Christopher Lane, of Charlotte NC, along with his maternal and paternal grandmothers, and numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Chris graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2016. He also received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame Mendoza School of Business in 2013, with a B.B.A. in Information Technology Management. Chris’s family has requested that those wishing to remember Chris to please consider doing so by making a donation to the University of Notre Dame in his memory, as follows: (i) open the following link: Notre Dame, (ii) select “Financial Aid” designation, and (iii) elect to dedicate any donation in memory of “Name: Christopher M De Lillo, BBA ’13, JD ’16.”
Though we will no longer have Chris here with us at Richards, Layton & Finger, Chris will always be present in our hearts and minds as we go forward to honor him for the wonderful person he was. Chris, you have left each of us as better people because we had our time together. You will be remembered, missed and always loved.
