WILMINGTON, Delaware – Richards, Layton & Finger directors Lisa A. Schmidt and Gregory P. Williams have been invited to be fellows of the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA), a highly selective trial lawyer honorary society. Fellowship in the LCA is by invitation only, with fellows selected based upon their accomplishment in litigation at both the trial and appellate levels as well as their superior ethical reputation. LCA, which is composed of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers, recognizes excellence among American litigation and trial counsel across all segments of the bar and counts the best in law among its members.
Schmidt, a director in Richards, Layton & Finger’s Corporate Department, represents Delaware corporations, their directors and other constituencies in corporate litigation. She has litigated numerous corporate control, corporate governance and contractual disputes in the Delaware courts, and she also advises corporations, directors and special committees on corporate governance and fiduciary duties.
Williams is the chair of the Corporate Department and the immediate past president of the firm. He represents corporations and their directors and officers, providing advice and counseling to his clients and representing them in courts in Delaware and across the country. Williams also represents committees of boards of directors formed to negotiate transactions or investigate alleged corporate wrongdoing.
