WILMINGTON, Delaware – Richards, Layton & Finger has been listed as a “Highly Recommended” litigation firm in Benchmark Litigation, the definitive guide to America’s leading business litigation firms and attorneys. Benchmark also named eight Richards Layton attorneys as “Local Litigation Stars” and “Future Stars,” more attorneys than any other Delaware firm. Focusing exclusively on the U.S. litigation market, Benchmark’s research team conducts extensive interviews with the nation’s leading lawyers to pinpoint the best all-around “bet-the-company” trial attorneys at both the local and national levels.

As one of Benchmark’s Highly Recommended firms, Richards, Layton & Finger was consistently cited for excellence by lawyers and clients. Benchmark calls Richards Layton “one of the First State’s most talented firms.” The guide lists Jesse A. Finkelstein, Allen M. Terrell Jr., Gregory V. Varallo, William J. Wade and Gregory P. Williams as Local Litigation Stars, so named because they were consistently recommended as “incontrovertible stars” by clients and peers. Jeffrey L. Moyer, Srinivas M. Raju and Chad M. Shandler are listed as Future Stars, reflecting that they were repeatedly recommended by peers and clients as litigators who are likely to appear as Litigation Stars in coming editions.

Finkelstein has expertise in governance, transactional and control dispute matters, and he has represented corporations, directors, significant shareholders and individual clients in complex, high-stakes litigation. Terrell, past president of the firm and past chair of the Litigation Department, focuses on corporate and complex commercial litigation in Delaware’s state and federal courts, with a focus on corporate governance and transactions. Varallo litigates complex business disputes concerning corporate governance and corporate transactions in state and federal courts in Delaware and throughout the U.S. Wade, executive vice president of the firm and chair of the Litigation Department, represents local and national clients in Delaware’s state and federal courts with an emphasis on civil litigation, including intellectual property and commercial law matters. Williams, immediate past president of the firm and chair of the Corporate Department, represents corporations and their directors and officers, advising clients and representing them in courts in Delaware and across the country.

Moyer, whose civil litigation practice includes intellectual property litigation, professional malpractice defense, product liability defense and complex commercial litigation, handles cases in all of Delaware’s state and federal courts and before various state administrative agencies. Raju litigates corporate control, corporate governance and contractual disputes in the Delaware Court of Chancery and the Delaware Supreme Court, and advises corporate boards, special committees and general partners regarding governance and transactional issues. Shandler has a varied civil litigation practice with a particular focus on complex financial and commercial disputes, trusts and estates litigation, insurance coverage litigation, communications and media law, and intellectual property law.
