WILMINGTON, Delaware (December 2, 2025) – Kinsey Lenehan, counsel at Richards, Layton & Finger, has been awarded the Young Lawyer’s Distinguished Service Award by the Delaware State Bar Association for her exemplary leadership and service in civic and humanitarian service.

Kinsey mentors Richards Layton’s summer associates and trains junior associates, and she is greatly involved in the firm’s Women’s Initiative, including organizing events and planning leadership panels. She is also the inaugural co-chair of the firm’s Supporting Working Parents group.

Beyond her work with the firm, Kinsey is highly active with Wilmington community organizations. She is the secretary for the Fund for Women board of trustees, sits on the Friends of Wilmington Parks Board of Stewards, serves meals at the Emmanuel Dining Room to at-risk members of the Wilmington community, and sits on the Development Committee of the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware. Kinsey has also held numerous leadership positions within the Junior League of Wilmington and has acted as a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware.

Recently, Kinsey has been the deserving recipient of two prestigious awards for young lawyers. In 2023, Kinsey was chosen for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s (LCLD) Pathfinders Program and received the LCLD Pathfinders Program Atlas Award, given to participants showing the highest levels of engagement. And this year, Delaware Business Times named Kinsey on the “40 Under 40” list that recognizes the top young professionals under the age of 40 in Delaware.

Kinsey focuses her legal practice on complex transactional matters relating to Delaware alternative entities, including limited liability companies, limited partnerships, and general partnerships. She advises global law firms, national and international financial institutions, privately held funds, investment vehicles, and other entities on a wide range of complex matters.

Richards Layton president Paul Heath says, “Kinsey is an excellent example of tenacity, dedication, and compassion. She is a skilled attorney within our Alternative Entity practice who is committed to fostering excellence in new associates. But her commitment goes beyond the firm. She also serves individuals and charitable organizations in the greater Wilmington community. I am proud to call her my colleague.”
