WILMINGTON, Delaware – In response to the recent rapid growth of Richards, Layton & Finger’s bankruptcy practice, the firm has created a new Bankruptcy and Corporate Restructuring Department. Mark D. Collins, chair of the new department, will join the firm’s Executive Committee. A lawyer of international distinction, Collins has been recognized in Who’s Who Legal, Chambers USA, The Deal, Best Lawyers in America and Delaware Super Lawyers.
The firm’s bankruptcy practice has garnered national recognition, handling some of the nation’s largest bankruptcy cases. With clients such as Washington Mutual, Linens ‘N Things and Tropicana, Richards Layton has been involved in virtually every major bankruptcy case that has been filed in Delaware. The Deal recently named Richards Layton the number one bankruptcy firm in the nation.
“The firm’s Bankruptcy Group has grown and prospered over the past two decades and now consists of over 30 attorneys, paralegals and staff. Creating this new department not only recognizes the remarkable success and growth of the firm’s Bankruptcy Group, but will promote greater efficiencies in the ongoing management of the firm’s bankruptcy practice and the other practice groups in the Business Department,” says firm president C. Stephen Bigler.
