Three Richards, Layton & Finger Directors Named in The International Who’s Who of Commercial Litigators

WILMINGTON, Delaware (October 13, 2009) – Three Richards, Layton & Finger directors, Jesse A. Finkelstein, Samuel A. Nolen and Gregory P. Williams, have been named in The International Who’s Who of Commercial Litigators 2009. They are among only 512 lawyers selected worldwide. Researchers at Who’s Who Legal gather information from lawyers and clients as well as the legal and financial media to create a definitive list of the world’s leading attorneys in 29 areas of business law. The International Who’s Who of Commercial Litigators 2009, published in August, will form the commercial litigation chapter in the 2010 edition of The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers.
Finkelstein focuses on advising and representing corporations, directors and significant shareholders. A former president of Richards Layton and former chair of the Corporate Department, he provides corporate governance, transactional, merger and acquisition, and control dispute advice to clients, and represents both corporate and individual clients in complex or high-stakes litigation. Finkelstein is the author of numerous publications and a graduate of Boston College Law School.
Nolen advises individuals, boards and management on corporate governance, transactional and control dispute issues. He also represents clients in derivative and class actions, fiduciary responsibility actions and other complex cases, and has appeared in many of the leading cases addressing these issues in the Delaware courts. Nolen has served as chair of Lex Mundi, the world’s leading association of independent law firms, and on arms of the Delaware Supreme Court. He is a graduate of Washington and Lee University School of Law.
Williams, chair of the Corporate Department and immediate past president of the firm, primarily represents corporations and their directors and officers. He provides non-litigation advice and counseling to his clients and represents them in courts in Delaware and across the country. Williams also represents committees of boards of directors formed to negotiate transactions or investigate alleged corporate wrongdoing. He is a graduate of the College of William and Mary Law School.
