The delicate balancing act between employers’ and employees’ needs and desires and equal employment laws has recently captured the attention of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Specifically, the EEOC has issued new enforcement guidance on unlawful disparate treatment of workers with caregiving responsibilities. Discrimination against caregivers is also known as Family Responsibilities Discrimination or FRD.
