Director W. Donald Sparks Named One of Worth Magazine’s Top 100 Attorneys

WILMINGTON, Delaware – Richards, Layton & Finger director W. Donald Sparks II has been named in Worth magazine’s “Top 100 Attorneys” list for the second consecutive year. Worth examines the concerns of families with substantial wealth. To compile the top 100 list, the magazine’s editors focus on attorneys throughout the country who specialize in trusts and estates, elder care, and other private practice areas. The list represents an exclusive group of lawyers who have earned this distinction for their outstanding expertise, insight, trustworthiness, and commitment to their clients’ needs.

Chair of Richards, Layton & Finger’s tax group, Sparks specializes in trusts and estates, focusing primarily on estate planning, estate administration, tax-exempt organizations, and fiduciary litigation. He is an active member of the Tax Section and Estates and Trusts Section of both the American Bar Association and the Delaware State Bar Association. Sparks is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a past chair of the Estate Planning Council of Delaware, Inc.

Sparks has frequently appeared as a speaker and has written numerous articles concerning estates, trusts, and related topics. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America 2008 and in the 2007 edition of Delaware Super Lawyers. Sparks earned a BA, summa cum laude, from Dartmouth College and a JD from Yale Law School, where he was a senior editor of the Law Review.
