Richards Layton Elects Sara Toner as Director and Mark Kurtz and Claire Love as Counsel of the Firm

WILMINGTON, Delaware (July 1, 2013) – Richards, Layton & Finger is pleased to announce the election of Sara Toner as a director and Mark Kurtz and Claire Love as counsel of the firm.

Sara Toner focuses her practice on transactions involving the acquisition, sale, lease, finance and development of commercial real estate properties. She has represented major real estate developers, significant holders of commercial real estate and institutional clients in all types of real estate transactions. Ms. Toner also has experience representing clients before zoning boards and planning commissions to obtain development approvals and to resolve land use disputes.

Ms. Toner has been recognized in Chambers USA since 2011. She has contributed to several published guides regarding licensing, construction and commercial leases under Delaware law. Ms. Toner received a B.S., summa cum laude, from Philadelphia University and a J.D. from Temple University School of Law.

Mark Kurtz concentrates his practice on commercial transactions involving financings, secured transactions, cross-border transactions, and mergers and acquisitions, including bankruptcy Section 363 sales. He has substantial experience representing clients in the sale and acquisition of businesses.  In addition, Mr. Kurtz provides legal advice and opinions with respect to limited liability companies, limited partnerships, corporations and other Delaware entities in connection with formation, authority and security issues. He earned a B.A. from Colgate University, an M.B.A. from Washington University Olin School of Business, and a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law.

Claire Love focuses on transactional matters involving Delaware statutory trusts and other alternative business entities. She provides advice on the formation, structuring and operation of such entities in a variety of commercial transactions, including asset-backed securitizations, trust preferred transactions, structured finance transactions, covered bond issuances and investment fund transactions. Ms. Love has represented numerous banks and trust companies in connection with their corporate trust and agency services. She earned a B.A. from Goucher College and a J.D., with honors, from the University of Maryland School of Law, where she was the managing editor of The Business Lawyer.
