WILMINGTON, Delaware (October 8, 2026) – Richards, Layton & Finger has been named a 2026 Delaware Regional Powerhouse by Law360.
In its profile of the firm, Law360 called Richards Layton “one of Delaware’s standout firms,” citing its ability to attract top talent, handle a wide range of corporate, intellectual property, and other matters, and help shape key Delaware corporate-law provisions.
The recognition comes as Richards Layton welcomes its largest-ever first-year associate class. The firm added 27 new associates this year and now has nearly 200 attorneys.
“I think the firm has been a leader in the Delaware market for its 127-year history because of its people,” said Paul Heath, Richards Layton’s president, in the Law360 profile. “We have been able to attract top-tier talent.”
The incoming class also reflects the continued strength of Delaware’s legal and business community, according to Rudolf “Rudy” Koch, a director at Richards Layton. “I think the fact that Delaware’s largest firm has its largest-ever incoming class of attorneys is a testament to how strong the Delaware ecosystem is,” Koch said. The number of corporations and entities incorporated in Delaware is still increasing overall, he explained, and the state’s courts remain the preeminent venue for deciding corporate and complex commercial disputes.
Koch also discussed the firm’s “collective knowledge” of all aspects of Delaware law, enabling it to serve clients across a range of practice areas. Koch told Law360 that Richards Layton is regularly called on by major national corporations to handle their most significant and consequential corporate matters.
The Law360 profile also highlighted Richards Layton’s intellectual property work. Kelly Farnan, Chair of Richards Layton’s Intellectual Property Group, told Law360 that the firm’s lawyers often play substantive roles in intellectual property trials and bring significant trial experience to complex matters. “Just by the nature of our practice, we see more trials,” Farnan said. “And we have the breadth of experience to bring to bear substantively in courts we’re very familiar with.”
