Richards Layton Promotes New Directors and Counsel

WILMINGTON, Delaware (June 20, 2017) – Richards, Layton & Finger is pleased to announce that, effective July 1, 2017, it has elected Kevin M. Gallagher, Susan M. Hannigan, and Beth A. Gansen Knight as directors of the firm, and has appointed Travis S. Hunter and Jason J. Rawnsley as counsel of the firm.

Kevin Gallagher has experience litigating complex corporate and commercial disputes in Delaware’s state and federal courts. His practice focuses on stockholder class actions, derivative actions, contested mergers and acquisitions, contractual disputes, appraisal actions and other statutory proceedings. Kevin earned a B.A., cum laude, from Temple University, and a J.D., magna cum laude, from Widener University School of Law, where he was editor-in-chief of The Delaware Journal of Corporate Law and a Wolcott Fellow.
Susan Hannigan focuses her practice on litigation involving corporate governance, corporate control, fiduciary duties, contract and other commercial disputes in the Delaware Court of Chancery and the Delaware Supreme Court. She served as a law clerk for the Honorable Joseph J. Farnan, Jr., in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. Susan received a B.A., summa cum laude, from Loyola College in Maryland, and a J.D., cum laude, Order of the Coif, from Villanova University School of Law.
Beth Gansen Knight advises individuals in implementing sophisticated estate plans, creating and modifying Delaware trusts, and relocating trusts to Delaware. She also represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries in the administration of estates and trusts, as well as banks and trust companies in fiduciary matters. Beth earned a B.A., summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Northern Iowa, a J.D. with high honors from the University of Iowa College of Law, and an LL.M. in tax from Villanova University.
Travis Hunter litigates complex commercial disputes in Delaware’s state and federal courts. He earned a B.A. from Davidson College and a J.D., summa cum laude, from Dickinson School of Law at Pennsylvania State University, and clerked for the Honorable Richard R. Cooch in the Delaware Superior Court.
Jason Rawnsley focuses his practice on commercial and intellectual property litigation in the Delaware courts. He received a B.A., Phi Beta Kappa, from Villanova University, an M.A. from Bryn Mawr, and a J.D., magna cum laude, from Notre Dame Law School, where he served on the Notre Dame Law Review.
